Pyongyang: North Korea will under no circumstances back down from its position as a nuclear-armed power and will stand firm against any threat, a senior official has declared.<\/p>\n
According to international media citing Yonhap News Agency, Kim Yo Jong, Deputy Director of the Central Committee of the ruling party and sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, stated that Pyongyang’s nuclear status is “absolutely non-negotiable.” She emphasized that her country will not concede “even an iota” on nuclear disarmament and will instead further strengthen its nuclear capabilities.<\/p>\n
She added that North Korea will tolerate no form of threat and will develop its military programs according to what it calls “deterrence.” For years, North Korea has labeled its nuclear and missile programs as part of its defense strategy against external pressures.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit, Kim Jong Un inspected the naval destroyer “Kang Kun.” Official North Korean media reported that this 5,000-ton warship underwent capability tests following repairs.<\/p>\n
