An Israeli military analyst from Channel 12 television has stated that the situation for the Israeli regime in Lebanon has deteriorated compared to three months ago, and Tel Aviv has lost some of its achievements and deterrence power amid the ongoing conflicts.<\/p>\n
Nir Dfuri, referring to the Israeli army’s operations along the “Blue Line” and infiltration missions beyond the Litani River, said that Hezbollah has been able to detect the movements of Israeli armored forces and targeted a tank with an anti-tank missile, killing its commander. According to him, this event signals a more complicated battlefield situation for Israel.<\/p>\n
Dfuri added that despite the continuation of Israeli army operations, Hezbollah’s attacks on Israeli forces and northern settlements persist, and even direct talks in Washington have failed to halt these attacks. He emphasized that the status quo of “neither war nor peace” cannot continue and that Israeli security circles are facing a deep sense of frustration.<\/p>\n
The analyst further claimed that the United States is gradually losing some of its deterrence power, and when Donald Trump, the President of the United States, takes a position, some regional parties do not take it seriously; a development that he believes is a negative shift for Israel.<\/p>\n
Dfuri, highlighting Israel’s extensive dependence on U.S. support, said that Tel Aviv often acts based on Washington’s decisions and orientations. He noted that currently, two options are under discussion in Israeli political and military circles: either continuing the military path until achieving declared goals, or halting operations and moving towards a political solution.<\/p>\n
He warned that continuing the current course could further erode Israel’s military capabilities and restrict the Israeli army’s freedom of action in Lebanon\u2014freedom that, according to him, has become more limited than before.
