Maulana Fazlur Rahman, leader of Pakistan’s Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party, stated that while Pakistani authorities talk about the presence of “terrorist centers” in Afghanistan, such centers are not seen in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which simultaneously experiences attacks and insecurity.<\/p>\n
He made these remarks at a gathering in Balochistan province, addressing the Pakistani government and military. He questioned that if the locations of these centers are known in Afghanistan, how then security posts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its southern areas fall, and armed attacks occur there, yet according to officials, no specific centers are identified within Pakistan.<\/p>\n
Fazlur Rahman described Pakistan’s military attacks inside Afghan territory as targeting terrorist centers. This comes amid recent months where these attacks have resulted in thousands of civilian Afghan casualties and extensive damage to residential areas.<\/p>\n
