This visit focused on evaluating the progress in improving residents’ living conditions and the role of local communities in sustainable development.

On Thursday, June 1, the UNDP stated on its X (formerly Twitter) page that the primary focus of the trip was to review efforts in livelihoods, women’s empowerment, health services, food security, and the preservation of cultural heritage. According to UNDP, strengthening local capacities and supporting community-based programs are among the key objectives of this mission.

In recent years, Bamyan has faced economic challenges, limited access to essential services, and a shortage of job opportunities. Following the Taliban’s takeover, restrictions—particularly on women’s employment and social presence—have increased, impacting development and economic participation in the province.

Despite these challenges, Bamyan is recognized as one of Afghanistan’s provinces with significant potential in tourism, culture, and historical heritage. Activating these capacities could play an important role in improving the economic situation of residents, provided that broad and non-discriminatory participation of all social groups is ensured.

UNDP delegation visits Bamyan province to assess development programs, focusing on livelihoods, women’s empowerment, health, food security, and cultural heritage preservation.

[7,16

post-14419","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business","category-secondary-headline
["GET
