Shaheen, who has also been appointed by the Taliban as Afghanistan’s representative for the United Nations seat, emphasized that Kabul is striving to strengthen its ties with the Islamic world.<\/p>\n
In an interview with the media, Shaheen said that the Taliban administration has “positive” relations with Islamic countries, particularly those in the Gulf region, and that several Afghan diplomats are actively engaged in these countries. He added that efforts are ongoing to further expand these relations across various sectors.<\/p>\n
These remarks come as the Taliban administration, despite retaking control of Afghanistan, has not yet been recognized by a large part of the international community. Moreover, Afghanistan’s seat at the United Nations remains occupied by representatives of the previous government.
