The Taliban’s Deputy for Anti-Narcotics in Kabul met with the head of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to discuss ongoing collaboration in combating drug trafficking.<\/p>\n
According to released information, Sheikh Abdulrahman Munir urged international organizations during the meeting not to let anti-narcotics efforts become victims of political agendas and to fulfill their commitments to provide alternative livelihoods for farmers. He emphasized that supporting farmers in cultivation areas could play a decisive role in reducing drug production.<\/p>\n
In response, Poleec Ok Seri, the head of the UNODC office, appreciated some achievements in related sectors, including the specialization of cancer patient treatments, and pledged that the agency’s cooperation in relevant fields would increase.<\/p>\n
