Israeli newspaper Haaretz has reported that a possible agreement between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran could strengthen Tehran’s regional standing and place Israel in a more difficult position. According to the newspaper, US President Donald Trump is seeking to sign a deal with Iran, the consequences of which would be significant for Tel Aviv.<\/p>\n
In its analysis, Haaretz added that the declared objectives of Washington and Tel Aviv within the framework of recent conflicts have not been fully achieved, and Iran’s political structure remains intact. The newspaper also claimed that Lebanon’s Hezbollah continues to exert pressure on Israel, and any new agreement could pave the way for rebuilding Tehran’s regional capabilities.<\/p>\n
The report further described the indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington as “slow” and noted that the hopeful atmosphere in the region for peace might again face challenges.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Islamic Republic officials have stated that any potential agreement must include a cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon, as well as recognition of Iran’s right to peaceful use of nuclear energy.
