Officials at a large farm in the province report that over eight thousand quails are currently kept at the farm, with approximately 1,500 quails and thousands of eggs supplied to the market each month.<\/p>\n<p>According to the farm officials, quail meat was previously mostly imported from Pakistan; however, with import restrictions in place, domestic producers have managed to meet part of the market demand locally. They add that increased investment in this sector indicates strengthened domestic production and reduced reliance on imports.<\/p>\n<p>Kandahar province, known as a key agricultural region in southern Afghanistan, has witnessed the expansion of various production activities in recent years.
