This was discussed during a meeting between senior officials from the Gates Foundation and UNICEF representatives in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p>Tajuddin Owal, UNICEF&#8217;s representative in Afghanistan, wrote on his X page on Saturday, May 29, that he had a &#8220;very fruitful&#8221; meeting with senior Gates Foundation officials about expanding cooperation in the health sector. He emphasized that this collaboration includes primary healthcare, child nutrition, routine immunization, and the polio eradication program.<\/p>\n<p>The UNICEF representative added that the organization appreciates the Gates Foundation&#8217;s support in strengthening health services for children and families. According to him, continued cooperation can improve children&#8217;s access to vital healthcare services.<\/p>\n<p>Afghanistan and Pakistan remain the only countries in the world where polio has not yet been completely eradicated.
