Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), announced that the agency is ready to assist in resolving differences between Iran and the United States, and that a 60-day period could create the conditions for reaching a final agreement. According to him, this timeframe provides an opportunity for a comprehensive examination of all issues related to Iran’s nuclear program.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, Grossi emphasized that Iran’s uranium stockpiles are a central point of contention between Tehran and Washington. He added that the agency can help clarify remaining issues within its technical mandate and support the negotiation process.<\/p>\n
The IAEA Director General also spoke of “significant progress” in addressing some unresolved matters and stressed that efforts to bring the perspectives closer together continue.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, some Iranian officials and media have previously criticized the IAEA’s approach and reports as one-sided. They have called for a balanced and technical treatment of Iran\u2019s peaceful nuclear program.
