This disease, transmitted by ticks, can spread between animals and humans.

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), with support from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the UK’s Afghanistan program, has initiated spraying of livestock markets and launched awareness campaigns across the country. These measures target areas involved in animal trade.

Crimean-Congo fever is a dangerous viral disease usually transmitted to humans through tick bites or contact with the blood and tissues of infected animals. Near Eid, due to increased slaughtering and transportation of livestock, the likelihood of an outbreak grows.

Health experts consistently emphasize the importance of preventive measures, using protective equipment during slaughter, and strict monitoring of livestock markets. Meanwhile, it is expected that the Taliban administration, in coordination with international organizations, will implement more effective oversight and regular programs to prevent the spread of the disease nationwide.

Raising awareness among butchers, livestock owners, and residents about the methods of transmission and prevention is considered a key tool in reducing the risk of Crimean-Congo fever outbreaks.

As Eid nears, Afghanistan increases efforts to prevent the spread of tick-borne Crimean-Congo fever amid rising livestock trade and market activity.

[9,17,3

post-13654","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-health","category-important-news","category-top-news
["GET
