The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has announced a new program to support returnees and vulnerable communities in Afghanistan, funded by Sweden. The organization reported on Sunday, May 24, that the program is designed in response to the complex current situation in Afghanistan, which includes the consequences of prolonged wars, natural disasters, internal displacement, and the large-scale return of migrants from neighboring countries.<\/p>\n
According to released information, this 13-month initiative aims to increase social participation, raise awareness in local communities, and support grassroots initiatives in regions hosting the highest numbers of returnees.<\/p>\n
Economically, the program will focus on creating job opportunities, providing skills training, supporting small and medium enterprises, and strengthening their links to markets.
