During his visit to Samangan province, the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Finance, and Administration of the Taliban’s Ministry of Information and Culture inspected several historical monuments and various departments of the province\u2019s Information and Culture Directorate, stressing the importance of better preservation of cultural heritage.<\/p>\n
Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, accompanied by Mawlawi Firozuddin Munib, head of Information and Culture in Samangan, toured Jahannama Garden, the historical area of Hezarsam Kokjar, the Samangan Theater, and other administrative sections of the directorate. He closely examined the condition of historical monuments and ancient sites.<\/p>\n
The head of Information and Culture in Samangan described the province as having a rich historical background and called for increased attention to the protection and maintenance of historical monuments. Additionally, Mohammad Amin Azizi, Cultural Manager of Heritage, provided information about the age and value of these sites and shared the challenges and issues related to their preservation and security with the delegation.<\/p>\n
The Deputy Minister of the Taliban\u2019s Ministry of Information and Culture emphasized installing clear signage to define the boundaries of ancient sites, preventing the illegal seizure of historical lands, and engaging local communities in safeguarding cultural heritage. He described the protection of historical monuments as a shared responsibility between the government and the people and assured that greater attention will be given to preserving the country\u2019s historical and cultural identity.<\/p>\n
Cultural experts consistently highlight that Samangan, as a province with an ancient heritage, requires practical programs and continuous supervision to prevent the destruction and occupation of historical sites.
