Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban administration, announced that Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, during a meeting with officials and members of the ulema councils from Parwan and Kapisa provinces, has ordered that the history and graves of the group\u2019s armed members killed in the two decades of conflict be specially registered and marked.<\/p>\n
According to him, based on this new directive, Taliban religious scholars and local officials are tasked with placing special plaques and flags on the graves to clearly identify the burial sites and heritage of these individuals as part of the historical record.<\/p>\n
The Taliban leader has also emphasized full cooperation with the Directorate for the Preservation and Care of Jihadi Monuments under the Ministry of Information and Culture to produce treatises and books about these individuals. The goal of this initiative is to pass down what is described as the “history of past jihad” to future generations and to honor their sacrifices.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, scholars were asked to continuously explain to the public the “virtue of jihad” and the status of the killed, disabled, and orphaned individuals related to the group, ensuring that this history is not forgotten.<\/p>\n
This comes at a time when a large portion of Afghan citizens are struggling with severe economic hardships, with many families facing difficulty securing daily bread.
