Bakhtar News Agency announced on Thursday, May 14, that these individuals include more than 975 families.

According to the published statistics, this recent wave of returns comes after approximately 800 other families entered Afghanistan two days ago. The pace of migrant repatriation has accelerated in recent months, with a significant number being relocated to border provinces.

The United Nations has stated that only 11 percent of returnees have employment, raising concerns about the ability to absorb and resettle them. Given the unemployment crisis and the difficult economic situation, many returning families face serious challenges related to shelter, livelihoods, and access to basic services.

The UN also reported that in 2025, around 2.8 million Afghan migrants have returned from Iran and Pakistan. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees added that nearly three million returnees last year increased Afghanistan’s population by about 10 percent.

While the repatriation process continues, the absence of a transparent and sustainable plan by the Taliban administration to manage this large population has raised concerns among aid organizations and the returnees themselves. If neglected, these worries could exacerbate social and economic crises in many parts of the country.

Over 5,200 Afghan migrants returned from Iran and Pakistan in one day amid rising challenges in resettlement and growing economic concerns.

[17,2

post-13020","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-migrant-news
["GET
