A spokesperson for the Russian presidential office stated that Moscow expects Washington not to condition the expansion of bilateral cooperation on resolving the Ukraine crisis. Dmitry Peskov said that if this condition is removed, the ground will be prepared for the implementation of extensive projects between the two countries.<\/p>\n
Peskov described the test of the ‘Sarmat’ missile as an important event for Russia’s security in the coming years and added that the United States has not yet issued an official response to this test. According to him, Moscow provides notifications regarding such missile launches in accordance with international procedures.<\/p>\n
The Kremlin spokesperson emphasized that if political conditions improve, numerous projects in investment and the economy could be put on the agenda between Russia and the US; projects which, he noted, would be beneficial for companies from both countries.<\/p>\n
Peskov also reported ongoing regular contacts with the US regarding the Ukraine crisis, saying that Russia exchanges information about this conflict with Ukraine through Washington, which acts as a mediator. He added that negotiations to resolve this crisis are complex and involve many details.<\/p>\n
He stated that Volodymyr Zelensky must order the Ukrainian armed forces to withdraw from Donbas and other areas that Russia considers part of its territory to pave the way for “comprehensive” peace talks.
