Zabiullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban administration, has denied allegations by Pakistani officials that the deadly attack on a police center in Pakistan’s Bannu district was planned from inside Afghanistan. Mujahid stated that Afghan territory is not used against any country. This response came after Islamabad claimed that the attackers were based in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, Mujahid issued a statement declaring that no individual or group will be allowed to use Afghan territory to harm the security and stability of the region. He added that understanding, mutual respect, and genuine cooperation could provide a solution to the ongoing tensions between the two countries.<\/p>\n
Earlier this week, on Wednesday evening, an explosion occurred in Fathkhil area of Bannu in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Reports indicated that 15 police officers were killed and four others, including one civilian, were injured. The incident is regarded as one of the deadliest recent attacks on Pakistan\u2019s security forces.<\/p>\n
Pakistan\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that based on “investigations, evidence, and technical intelligence information,” the attack was orchestrated by armed individuals who, according to Pakistan, are based in Afghanistan. Following this allegation, Sardar Ahmad Shakib, the Taliban\u2019s charge d’affaires in Islamabad, was summoned to the Pakistani Foreign Ministry and handed an official protest letter.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Pakistan\u2019s defense minister has warned that the country may carry out decisive operations against the Afghan Taliban in response to the attack.
