According to the newspaper Dawn, this situation, alongside rising transportation costs, has placed significant pressure on exporters.

Based on these reports, Pakistan’s mango production, which in recent years reached around 1.8 million tons, is expected to decline to 1.5 million tons this year—a drop of nearly 20 percent. Experts have attributed part of this decrease to trade difficulties and instability along export routes.

Dawn further noted that in addition to the closure of trade routes with Afghanistan, tensions in the Persian Gulf and disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz have also contributed to increased shipping costs and made the export process for this fruit more challenging. The Strait of Hormuz is considered a vital maritime passage in the region, where any instability affects regional trade.

These media outlets had previously reported that following the halt of cotton exports from Afghanistan to Pakistan, the country’s textile factories face risks of recession and even collapse. Meanwhile, the lack of cohesive trade management and the closure of border crossings by the Taliban administration have been repeatedly criticized by traders on both sides, who have called for the establishment of a stable and predictable mechanism to prevent further losses.

Pakistan’s mango production falls 20% due to trade delays with Afghanistan, rising transport costs, and regional tensions impacting exports.

[7,17

post-12826","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business","category-important-news
["GET
