According to a statement from the UK Ministry of Defence, this mission is designed to protect commercial vessels, clear potential mines, and ensure confidence in maritime traffic passage. Its implementation is conditioned on establishing a ‘lasting’ ceasefire in the ongoing conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran. <\/p>\n
The UK also announced the deployment of the warship HMS Dragon to the Middle East, emphasizing that this move is part of a ‘wholly defensive’ strategy. Meanwhile, France\u2019s Ministry of Armed Forces last week disclosed that its aircraft carrier strike group has been stationed in the Red Sea, prepared for a potential mission to secure the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n
