Amrullah Saleh, former vice president of Afghanistan and a staunch critic of Pakistan\u2019s policies, has issued a sharp response to recent remarks by Pakistan\u2019s defense minister, raising questions about Islamabad\u2019s alleged support for the Taliban.<\/p>\n
In a post on social media, Saleh likened the minister\u2019s rhetoric to that of a propagandist, stating that defense officials should make headlines through their actions, not empty speeches.<\/p>\n
Referring to reported tensions between the Quetta Shura\u2014a key Taliban leadership body based in Pakistan\u2014and the headquarters of the Pakistani military (GHQ), he described the situation as \u201cspectacular,\u201d calling it an opportunity for Pakistan to reassess its regional policies.<\/p>\n
Saleh urged Pakistan to openly admit how and why it has supported the Taliban. He called on Pakistani authorities to share with the Afghan people evidence of the group\u2019s training videos filmed on Pakistani soil, their businesses and buildings in major Pakistani cities, and the hidden motives behind Islamabad\u2019s continued backing.<\/p>\n
He further demanded that Pakistan issue an apology to the Afghan people, as well as to former Afghan leaders such as Hamid Karzai, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, and himself. Saleh said such a gesture would help Pakistan shed its \u201chistorical burden\u201d and prepare for a brighter future.<\/p>\n
