Islamabad: Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry expressed optimism about the ongoing negotiations between Tehran and Washington, stating that it is ready to host the signing ceremony if a final agreement is reached. Islamabad also emphasized that, as a mediator, maintaining the confidentiality of the talks is a fundamental principle and it will not disclose details of the negotiations.<\/p>\n
An unnamed official from the ministry said Pakistan welcomes media reports about a potential deal between Iran and the US but stressed that the trust of both parties is vital to Islamabad, and this trust will not be compromised by revealing details.<\/p>\n
According to the official, it remains unclear in which city the possible agreement will be signed. He added that if Islamabad is chosen as the host, it would be a “matter of pride” for Pakistan.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for Pakistan\u2019s Foreign Ministry also stated that the exact timing of the agreement is uncertain, and it is unclear how close Tehran and Washington are to signing. Nevertheless, Pakistan remains optimistic about the future of the negotiations. The spokesperson further noted that no official response has yet been received from Iran regarding the amendments made by the US to the proposed offer.<\/p>\n
These remarks come amid reports from Western media outlets including Reuters, CNN, and the Wall Street Journal, which have indicated that Iran and the United States are nearing a framework to end the ongoing conflict, with a short-term agreement to halt hostilities possible.<\/p>\n
