The Taliban-run Ministry of Public Health announced on Tuesday, October 27, that a delegation led by Mawlawi Noorjalal Jalal, the head of the ministry, has departed for Saudi Arabia for official health-related consultations.<\/p>\n
According to officials from the ministry, the visit was made at the official invitation of the Saudi government and aims to strengthen health relations and enhance bilateral cooperation in healthcare services.<\/p>\n
During the trip, Mawlawi Jalal is scheduled to meet with Saudi Arabia\u2019s Minister of Health, officials from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, representatives of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, as well as several international charitable organizations.<\/p>\n
The visit comes as Afghanistan\u2019s healthcare system faces a severe decline in international aid and a sharp drop in funding since the Taliban returned to power.
