Seyed Abbas Araqchi, Iran\u2019s Foreign Minister, is heading to Beijing today, Tuesday, May 5th, as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts. He will meet with Wang Yi, China\u2019s Foreign Minister, to discuss bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.<\/p>\n
According to official sources, the focus of the meeting will be to review bilateral cooperation and exchange views on the regional situation and certain international issues. This trip comes amid months of continuous consultations between the two countries at various levels.<\/p>\n
Previously, the Iranian and Chinese foreign ministers spoke via phone on April 15th. During that call, Iran\u2019s foreign minister expressed appreciation for China\u2019s and Russia\u2019s stance opposing the United States\u2019 draft resolution at the United Nations Security Council, acknowledging their role in preventing escalating tensions.<\/p>\n
In response, China\u2019s foreign minister emphasized his country\u2019s readiness to assist in advancing diplomatic processes and efforts to end the war.<\/p>\n
This visit is part of a series of recent trips by Iran\u2019s top diplomat.
