They claim the ruling was issued without a comprehensive review of ownership documents and without providing sufficient opportunity to present a defense.

According to the protesters, the dispute brought forward by the Taliban’s Ministry of Justice was examined in court; however, the presiding judge did not give the residents adequate time to submit their defense. They describe this process as a clear violation of legal principles and emphasize that under such circumstances, a fair verdict cannot be expected.

Residents report that thousands of homes have been built on the land in question, and following the court’s decision, claims over ownership of these houses have emerged, raising widespread social and economic concerns among families.

They add that initially, the judge had deemed the case admissible, but later changed the decision, dismissing the case on the grounds that the Taliban administration already controls the land. Protesters have labeled this reasoning as illegitimate and contrary to legal standards, demanding a transparent and thorough reevaluation of the case based on legal principles.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Justice had previously announced that the special land restitution and anti-grab court, after its assessment, declared about 12,500 acres in the Ismailkhel and Manduzi districts as state-owned. Nevertheless, local residents maintain that unless their documents and defenses are fully and impartially reviewed, they will not accept the ruling as legitimate.

Khost residents protest Taliban court order declaring 12,500 acres state land, citing lack of proper ownership review and defense opportunities.

[17,8,3

post-12184","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-social-affairs","category-top-news
["GET
