Khawaja Asif, Pakistan’s Defence Minister, has accused India of conducting a proxy war against Pakistan through the Taliban and using Afghan territory to destabilize the country.<\/p>\n
On Monday, 14th Saur (May 4), during a media interview, he stated that the Taliban are effectively acting as India’s representatives in this process. According to him, New Delhi is attempting to increase security pressures on Islamabad by exploiting the situation in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
The Pakistani Defence Minister also claimed that both Pakistani and Afghan Taliban receive support from India\u2014a claim that has yet to be officially confirmed or denied by either India or the Taliban administration.<\/p>\n
The Pakistani official emphasized that Islamabad’s policy is based on mutual respect and cooperation with its neighbors, and that Pakistan seeks stability and peace in the region.<\/p>\n
These remarks come amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India in recent months, alongside security challenges along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
