The operation was accompanied by a military helicopter and is reportedly part of ongoing movements by international coalition forces in northeastern Syria.<\/p>\n
This marks the second arrival of a US-armed aircraft at this airport in the same month. On October 12, a similar aircraft, escorted by two military helicopters, landed at the same airfield carrying air defense systems and heavy weapons. The Kharab al-Jir airport lies in a region under the control of US-led coalition forces, who have for years supported local fighters in the battle against ISIS.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, local sources in Syria\u2019s southern Quneitra province report new movements by Israeli forces near the country\u2019s border.
