The foundation stone for a quarantine or isolation center was laid in the border area of Islam Qala port in Herat province with the presence of officials from relevant organizations. The initial cost of this project is estimated at over 8.4 million Afghanis.<\/p>\n
This center is being constructed based on an agreement between the Ministry of Public Health and the OCCD Foundation, aiming to strengthen health services and increase the capacity for controlling contagious diseases at this important border port. The funding for this project is provided by the World Health Organization (WHO).<\/p>\n
Islam Qala port, one of the most important border crossings between Afghanistan and Iran, sees a large number of travelers and commercial goods transported daily. According to officials, establishing this center can play a significant role in health monitoring and preventing the spread of contagious diseases in this area.<\/p>\n
Officials also emphasized that upon completion of this project, the capacity to provide health services in the port and Herat province will increase significantly, and challenges related to the prevention and monitoring of contagious diseases will be reduced.
