These sanctions were enacted due to Washington&#8217;s allegations concerning the involvement of these firms in Iran&#8217;s oil transactions.<\/p>\n<p>In an official statement released today, the ministry emphasized that the US actions conflict with &#8220;international laws and fundamental norms of international relations.&#8221; Beijing asserted that it does not recognize these sanctions and will prevent their enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>According to international media reports, the five companies named include the Hengli Petrochemical Refinery in Dalian and four refineries collectively known as &#8220;Teapot&#8221; refineries; these are Shandong Jinchen Petrochemical Group, Hebei Xinhai Chemical Group, Shouguang Luqing Petrochemical, and Shandong Shengxing Chemical Company.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Teapot&#8221; refineries refer to small, independent oil refining units in China that have played a significant role in oil imports in recent years.
