This figure covers the period starting April 13 and shows that over half of the vessels examined were able to navigate this route.

Information released by maritime monitoring centers and the MarineTraffic platform indicates that out of the 145 ships surveyed, 53 vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz despite the US decision. These ships were either operating under the Iranian flag, had departed from Iranian ports, or were heading to these ports. Among them, 11 ships were also included on the US sanctions list.

Additionally, 28 other vessels on the sanctions list, but without direct links to Iranian ports, passed through the strait during the same period. In total, the number of ships that traversed the route against the US-declared directive reached 78.

Conversely, reports indicate that 11 ships were unable to pass through the strait during this timeframe. These vessels belonged to companies based in China, India, Pakistan, and Turkey. The analysis was based on data from ships that kept their tracking devices active while transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

The report noted that some ships switched off their tracking signals before passing through, which might affect the accuracy of the statistics and suggests the actual number of passages could be higher.

The US Central Command had earlier stated that this blockade targets ships entering or leaving Iranian ports. Meanwhile, CNN, citing a US official, reported that Washington has deployed at least 15 military vessels in the Middle East region, including an aircraft carrier and 11 destroyers.

An examination of the cargo types on the transiting ships shows that 36 vessels carried containers and general cargo, 11 carried bulk cargo, and six were oil tankers. The highest number of transits was recorded on April 28, when 10 ships traveled in both directions through the Strait of Hormuz.

The Strait of Hormuz, as one of the world’s most important maritime passages, plays a key role in the transfer of energy and goods between the Persian Gulf and open waters. Any developments in this route attract significant regional and international attention.

81 Iranian and related ships passed through the US-declared naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz since April 13, defying US sanctions and restrictions.

[17,6

post-11917","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-international
["GET
