According to published information, the first phase of the project is 60 percent complete, and the second phase is 74 percent complete. Both phases are scheduled to be operational by the end of the year 1405 in the Solar Hijri calendar (approximately March 2027).<\/p>\n<p>The first phase of this corridor starts at the Broghil border in Badakhshan province and extends 17.13 kilometers to the Buzai-Gonbad area, with a reported cost of 143 million Afghanis. The second phase runs from Buzai-Gonbad to the China border, covering a length of 50.49 kilometers and is being executed with a budget of 180 million Afghanis.<\/p>\n<p>Nooralhadi Adel, spokesperson for the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, stated that the project includes construction of bridges, culverts, protective walls, and retaining walls. He mentioned that officials are hopeful the work will proceed according to plan and that the project will be completed within the scheduled timeframe.<\/p>\n<p>Several economic experts regard the Wakhan Corridor as a key initiative for the future of Afghanistan\u2019s trade.
