The meeting took place at the Arg (presidential palace), where both parties emphasized the necessity of continuing aid through Pakistan.<\/p>\n
The UK special envoy expressed condolences for the human casualties caused by recent Pakistani rocket attacks on parts of Afghanistan, stating that violence must stop and more efforts are needed to build trust between the two sides. He added that he conveyed the message of the need for confidence-building to the Pakistani side as well and urged both parties to take practical steps to foster a climate of goodwill.<\/p>\n
According to Lindsey, the ongoing war causes problems and despair for both sides; ending the violence requires political will and courage. He also stressed that humanitarian aid transfer to Afghanistan via Pakistan must proceed without obstacles.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, Mullah Abdul Wasi condemned recent attacks on the university and residential homes in Asadabad, the center of Kunar province, saying that targeting civilians, especially women and children, is unjustifiable. He demanded accountability from those responsible for these incidents and called on the countries involved in mediation efforts to consider the facts.<\/p>\n
The Chief of the Office of the Prime Minister further stated that the Taliban administration seeks an end to violence and aims to strengthen friendly relations with Pakistan but will not allow Afghanistan\u2019s soil to be used against others. He emphasized that trade, transit, and humanitarian aid issues should not be affected by political disagreements.<\/p>\n
Another topic discussed was the situation of Afghan refugees in Pakistan. Abdul Wasi said that refugees have respected Pakistan\u2019s laws for four decades and expect their rights to be upheld.
