Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Public Works, stated in a press release that the roads connecting Firozkoh–Marghab, Firozkoh–Chaharsada, and sections of the Ghor–Herat highway are blocked. He added that some district roads in Ghor province are currently unusable due to damage and waterlogging. In Samangan province, the Aibak–Khurram route and several other roads have been closed due to flooding, halting vehicle traffic. Authorities have urged residents to avoid traveling these highways until further notice. The Ministry’s spokesperson also warned of the possibility of more heavy rains and floods in other provinces. This alert comes as recent weeks have seen floods across several regions in the country causing widespread damage to highways, residential homes, and resulting in casualties. Alongside extensive damages, residents of affected areas have continuously complained about the lack of preventive measures and poor crisis management, issues that require serious attention and effective planning from the Taliban’s responsible institutions.

Heavy rains and flooding have led to the temporary closure of major highways in Ghor and Samangan provinces, with authorities warning of further floods.

[17,5

post-11709","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-security-incidents
["GET
