Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday afternoon in Saint Petersburg, where both sides emphasized strengthening the strategic relationship between Tehran and Moscow. During the meeting, officials from both countries discussed bilateral cooperation and regional developments.<\/p>\n
Araqchi described the Tehran-Moscow relationship as “strategic,” stating that the two countries, as strategic partners, have always supported each other and that this cooperation will continue. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was also present at the meeting.<\/p>\n
Kazem Jalali, Iran’s ambassador to Moscow, and Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy for Legal and International Affairs at Iran\u2019s Foreign Ministry, were among the other participants in the talks.<\/p>\n
Araqchi, who arrived in Russia as part of a regional visit following stops in Pakistan and Oman, said upon his arrival in Saint Petersburg that Tehran and Moscow have always maintained close consultations and extensive dialogues on bilateral and regional issues. He added that the recent pause in meetings has now provided a suitable opportunity to review recent developments and increase coordination.<\/p>\n
The Iranian foreign minister also stated that during this trip, the current status of the war and related developments will be reviewed with Russian officials to ensure necessary coordination.<\/p>\n
Earlier, in his visits to Pakistan and Oman, Araqchi met with senior officials and outlined Tehran\u2019s perspectives on ending the war.
