The Department of Information and Culture under the Taliban administration in Zabul province held a public meeting to better implement Decree No. 17 issued by the group’s leader, a decree aimed, according to Taliban officials, at reforming what they term “incorrect social practices” and preventing unnecessary expenditures.<\/p>\n
According to a report by Bakhtar news agency, Mohajer Farahi, Deputy of Publications at the Taliban’s Ministry of Information and Culture, stated in the meeting that for the implementation of decrees, officials, teachers, preachers, and tribal elders must take the lead and work collectively to prevent the spread of improper customs.<\/p>\n
He also urged educators in schools and universities to raise awareness among students and called on media outlets to play an active role in this regard to accelerate the process of what was termed “social reform.”<\/p>\n
Following this, Mullah Hamdullah Fetrat, Deputy Spokesperson of the Taliban administration, read out the group’s leadership message and emphasized the importance of enforcing this decree.<\/p>\n
At the end of the meeting, several tribal elders welcomed the decree and pledged their cooperation in its implementation.<\/p>\n
Similar decrees have been issued by the Taliban administration in recent years across various social sectors.
