The Russian Foreign Ministry has declared that Washington’s new proposals to resume talks with Moscow on strategic stability are ‘vague’ and ‘unrealistic.’ This response comes in reaction to the US plan to revive discussions related to the New START treaty, aimed at reducing strategic nuclear arms. <\/p>\n
In a statement released by the ministry, it was emphasized that the ideas presented by the United States lack the necessary clarity and do not seem practically feasible. Moscow believes that the framework proposed by Washington cannot establish the basis for a constructive and balanced dialogue. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the US has called for China and several other countries to be included in an updated version of the New START treaty. Mike Waltz, the US Permanent Representative to the United Nations, stated that Washington is attempting to move the treaty beyond a bilateral agreement between the US and Russia and transform it into a multilateral accord. <\/p>\n
Previously, the US Department of State announced that the country would resume nuclear testing on par with Russia and China, a move that could impact the global strategic stability landscape. <\/p>\n
