The Taliban administration’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Amir Khan Muttaqi held a telephone conversation with the Saudi Arabian Minister of Foreign Affairs to discuss strengthening bilateral relations, the situation of Afghans residing in Saudi Arabia, and regional developments.<\/p>\n
According to released information, Muttaqi emphasized the importance of expanding relations between Kabul and Riyadh and expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s efforts towards regional stability. He also called for providing greater facilities for Afghan residents in Saudi Arabia, especially regarding the provision of services and information transfer.<\/p>\n
The call also highlighted the need to strengthen human resource capacities within diplomatic missions, a matter deemed especially significant given the current international restrictions facing the Taliban administration. The Taliban government has not yet been recognized by many countries, which has affected the level and quality of its official relations.<\/p>\n
The Saudi Foreign Minister likewise stressed the importance of developing diplomatic relations between the two sides and welcomed the enhancement of diplomatic mission capacities.<\/p>\n
Both parties described regional stability as important for all countries and agreed that resolving challenges through dialogue and diplomacy is essential.
