France’s Foreign Minister has announced that with the change of government in Hungary, the European Union might approve sanctions against Israel in the coming days over what has been described as violations of laws in the West Bank.<\/p>\n
Jean-No\u00ebl Barrot stated that the political leadership change in Hungary and the rise of a centrist government could remove the main obstacle to this decision. According to him, the previous Hungarian government led by Viktor Orb\u00e1n had vetoed the approval of these sanctions.<\/p>\n
The French Foreign Minister added that for about a year, he has been calling for sanctions against individuals and entities allegedly involved in violence against Palestinians, particularly residents of the West Bank. He expressed hope that this proposal would be approved in the near future.<\/p>\n
