Nurullah Nuri, acting head of the Ministry of Borders, Tribes, and Ethnicities under the Taliban administration, claimed at a meeting in Badakhshan province that certain “intelligence circles” worldwide are attempting to destabilize Afghanistan’s security. He emphasized that the Afghan people are “alert and united” and will not allow covert conspiracies to succeed.<\/p>\n
The meeting was held under the title “Defense and Support of the Islamic System.” In his remarks, Nuri stated that the Taliban administration controls the entire country and will not permit any individual or group to “violate or disrupt security.” He added that the Afghan nation will no longer be deceived and will stand firm against any schemes.<\/p>\n
During the event, several local officials and participants also expressed support for the Taliban’s rule, asserting that since the Taliban came to power, security has been ensured throughout the country and discrimination has been eradicated. They underscored the importance of “obedience to leaders” and preventing the activities of those who, according to them, seek to spread terror.<\/p>\n
This gathering takes place amidst widespread domestic and international criticism aimed at the Taliban over civil restrictions, women’s rights, and political participation. Critics warn that a unilateral insistence on obedience and the suppression of dissenting voices, without establishing accountable and inclusive structures, may lead to further shrinking of the civil space within Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
