Nawaf Salam, the Prime Minister of Lebanon, described the killing of Amal Khalil, a Lebanese female journalist, in yesterday\u2019s Israeli attack as a “war crime”. He stated that targeting journalists while they are performing their professional duties is a blatant violation of international laws.<\/p>\n
According to Lebanese media, Salam emphasized that attacks on media personnel are no longer accidental events but have turned into a deliberate and recurring approach. He added that Lebanon strongly condemns this act and considers it contrary to all international norms and covenants.<\/p>\n
The Lebanese Prime Minister also said that targeting journalists, preventing rescue teams from reaching them, and then bombing the site again after the arrival of emergency forces constitute a clear example of a war crime. He stressed that Beirut will pursue this case in the appropriate international forums and will spare no effort in doing so.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Lebanon\u2019s Ministry of Public Health announced that the Israeli army pursued Amal Khalil to a house in the village of Al-Teiri, where she sought shelter. According to the report, the house was targeted, resulting in the journalist\u2019s death.<\/p>\n
