These measures include the deployment of nearly 1,100 security, intelligence, and military personnel to those areas.

Under the terms of the agreement, an additional £160 million will only be paid if the new measures are deemed successful in preventing migrant crossings. This condition is part of a monitoring mechanism to oversee the practical outcomes of the agreement.

This deal replaces a previous three-year program valued at around £480 million, which ended earlier this year. British officials have stated that since the Labour government took office in 2024, cooperation with France has prevented more than 42,000 attempts to cross the English Channel.

The UK and France have agreed on a £660 million security deal to prevent illegal migrant crossings through the English Channel.

[17,6

post-11238","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-international
["GET
