The Taliban administration has reported that a total of 4,225 Afghan migrants were returned from Pakistan and Iran to Afghanistan on Friday, the 2nd of Aqrab.<\/p>\n
According to figures released by the Taliban Commission for Refugee Affairs, 3,696 individuals were deported from Pakistan and 529 from Iran, either forcibly or voluntarily. Most of these returnees entered Afghanistan through the Spin Boldak, Bahramcha, Silk Bridge, and Islam Qala border crossings.<\/p>\n
Abdul Jabbar Takhari, the Taliban’s consul general in Pakistan, told the media that the pace of deportations has significantly accelerated. He noted that many Afghan nationals are being expelled without being allowed to take their belongings or property with them.<\/p>\n
Takhari described the conditions of refugees in temporary camps inside Pakistan as “dire.” He said many migrants are being held for weeks in harsh conditions, with limited access to healthcare services and basic food supplies\u2014a situation that has sparked widespread protests.<\/p>\n
The mass and sudden deportations continue even as the Taliban administration has yet to announce a comprehensive plan to address the needs of returnees or provide basic amenities at border checkpoints. The administration\u2019s silence and inaction have only worsened the plight of returning migrants.<\/p>\n
