The Ukrainian military has announced that it targeted the Tuapse oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region in a drone attack. According to a statement published on the army\u2019s Telegram channel, the attack caused a fire in one of the refinery\u2019s storage tanks.<\/p>\n
The statement did not provide further details about the extent of damage or any casualties. At the same time, images circulated on social media showing a fire at the oil facilities in the port city of Tuapse; however, the authenticity and exact timing of these images have not been independently verified.<\/p>\n
The Tuapse refinery, located on the Black Sea coast, is owned by Rosneft, Russia\u2019s largest oil company. Rosneft operates its only refinery in the area in the port city of Tuapse.<\/p>\n
Known as Russia\u2019s oldest oil refinery, the facility processes approximately 8.6 million tons of crude oil annually and holds significant economic and strategic importance for Moscow.
