North Korea has announced that it tested five ground-to-ground ballistic missiles, the Hwasong-11, equipped with cluster bomb warheads and explosive mines for the second time this month. The tests were conducted on Monday, and according to Pyongyang officials, the missiles successfully struck an island target.<\/p>\n
According to the Associated Press, Kim Jong Un, North Korea’s leader, personally oversaw the missile launches and watched the event from a coastal area alongside his teenage daughter. State media also released images showing his presence at the test site.<\/p>\n
Following the tests, Kim emphasized the special importance of increasing “high-density strike capabilities” in military operations. Analysts believe the repeated tests could indicate Pyongyang\u2019s efforts to enhance the ability of its missiles to penetrate U.S. and South Korean defense systems.<\/p>\n
Earlier this month, North Korea also tested another version of the Hwasong-11 Ka missile. Officials claimed that these missiles have the capability to target and cause widespread destruction in designated areas.<\/p>\n
