The Taliban’s Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock has announced that a delegation led by Mawlavi Usmani, the ministry\u2019s deputy, traveled to Russia to meet and hold talks with several technical institutions in the country. According to the ministry, the main focus of these meetings was to expand cooperation in the areas of exports and imports, quality control, quarantine, and capacity building.<\/p>\n
The released statement highlights that both parties discussed better regulation of the export and import processes for agricultural products, as well as the establishment of joint projects. Quality control issues and quarantine mechanisms were also key topics during these negotiations.<\/p>\n
The Taliban administration speaks of expanding technical cooperation with Russia amid significant challenges faced by Afghanistan\u2019s agricultural sector, including a lack of standard infrastructure and limited access to global markets. Many experts believe that any foreign agreements will only be effective if transparency, practical planning, and genuine support for domestic farmers are ensured.<\/p>\n
