According to the union, the majority of these exports were sent to the United States, Turkey, and several European countries.

Abdullah Rahman Qal, head of the Carpet Union, stated that carpet processing is now conducted domestically, and if this process expands, it will create employment opportunities for about 50,000 people. He described this initiative as an important step toward strengthening the domestic industry and increasing the value-added of the country’s products.

He further noted that the union aims to hold more exhibitions inside and outside the country to better introduce domestic products to global markets and attract new buyers for Afghan carpets. Afghan carpets are among the country’s oldest and most renowned industries, which in recent years have faced serious challenges in marketing and exporting.

The union head also called on the Taliban administration to establish special industrial parks for carpet weaving in every province to ensure the organized development of this industry. At the same time, several employees in this sector have requested practical support from the Taliban administration to address problems, improve marketing, and enhance technical skills. Activists in this sector believe that without clear planning and sustainable government support, fulfilling these demands will be difficult.

Afghanistan’s carpet exports hit $18 million in one year, with growth potential seen through domestic processing and new market expansions.

[7,17

post-10850","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business","category-important-news
["GET
