The Pakistani foreign minister did not provide further details on the discussion topics but stressed that the negotiation process in the Pakistani capital had reached a critical stage and the two sides were close to understanding. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army, in a statement marking the end of the highest military official’s three-day visit to Iran, reaffirmed Islamabad\u2019s commitment to supporting peaceful solutions in the region. According to the statement, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Pakistan Army, met during his visit with Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, and held separate talks with several senior Iranian officials including the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, the Foreign Minister, and the Commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters. <\/p>\n
The Pakistan Army\u2019s statement said this visit reflected the country’s resolve to facilitate peaceful resolution of conflicts in West Asia and to strengthen peace and stability in the region.
