According to the USGS, the first earthquake, measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale, occurred around 7:24 a.m., approximately 27 kilometers south of Jurm district. The depth of this earthquake was recorded at 198.8 kilometers below the surface. The second earthquake, registering a magnitude of 4.5, took place around 7:46 a.m., about 34 kilometers from Jurm district, with a depth of 186.1 kilometers. Reports indicate that the first tremor was noticeably felt in Kabul city, and residents of northern and northeastern provinces also experienced it. Jurm district has witnessed similar earthquakes repeatedly in recent years. Badakhshan, due to its mountainous location and position within an active seismic belt, is among the provinces that regularly experience such natural events.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Two consecutive earthquakes measuring 5.3 and 4.5 struck Jurm district in Badakhshan, felt as far as Kabul and northern provinces.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":10757,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[17,5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-10758","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-security-incidents"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/10758","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=10758"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/10758\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/10757"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=10758"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=10758"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=10758"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
