The Taliban Administration’s High Commission for Migrants announced that on Wednesday, April 14, Pakistan expelled at least 4,182 Afghan migrants. According to the commission, these individuals entered Pakistan through the Torkham crossing in Nangarhar and the Spin Boldak crossing in Kandahar.<\/p>\n
The commission’s bulletin stated that among the returnees, 878 were transferred to various provinces after arriving in Kabul. No further details have been disclosed regarding their accommodation or the facilities provided to them.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations reported that 82 Afghan migrants have been released from Pakistani prisons and returned to Afghanistan. The ministry noted that Pakistani police had detained these individuals due to a lack of residency documents.<\/p>\n
In recent months, Pakistan has significantly increased its detention and expulsion of Afghan migrants. This move comes amid repeated warnings from international organizations that forced repatriation to Taliban-ruled Afghanistan, given widespread economic and social restrictions, could expose returnees to serious livelihood and security risks.<\/p>\n
