Pakistan\u2019s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed hope that ongoing negotiations with the United States could pave the way for lasting peace in the region. The Prime Minister\u2019s Office announced that discussions between Islamabad and the US began with a meeting between Sharif and an American delegation, during which officials from both sides spoke about regional developments.<\/p>\n
The meeting took place on Saturday, April 10, coinciding with preparations for talks between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran. JD Vance, the US Vice President, led the American delegation at this session.<\/p>\n
According to a statement from Pakistan\u2019s Prime Minister\u2019s Office, Steve Witkoff, the US Special Envoy, and Jared Kushner, also the US Vice President, accompanied the US delegation. On the Pakistani side, Ishaq Dar, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, and Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, the Interior Minister, were part of the Pakistani delegation.<\/p>\n
Shahbaz Sharif welcomed the commitment of both delegations to constructive engagement and emphasized that Islamabad is ready to continue its role as a facilitator to advance the talks and help secure lasting peace in the region.<\/p>\n
