The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has announced that its health teams have launched a catch-up vaccination campaign in the Gaza Strip, aiming to cover more than 1,200 children under the age of three.<\/p>\n
According to UNRWA, many young children in Gaza have missed routine childhood vaccinations due to ongoing conflict, damage to health infrastructure, and restricted access to medical services. This situation has raised concerns about an increased risk of vaccine-preventable diseases.<\/p>\n
In addition to administering overdue vaccinations, UNRWA health teams are assessing the nutritional status of children and referring those in need to specialized centers for further care.<\/p>\n
The Gaza Strip is among the areas where prolonged hostilities have severely damaged much of the health infrastructure, making the provision of basic medical services extremely challenging.
